Fixing One-Touch Access using Bluetooth on Nokia E71
I just want to pass this information forward, hoping it will help someone else.
A few days ago I stopped being able to connect to the internet using my Nokia E71 phone + Smart 3G + a bluetooth connection from my laptop. I was able to connect to the phone itself and transfer files using the bluetooth connection, but the One Touch Access just did not work. It either disconnected as soon as I clicked the Connect button or said the the device was not connected. In addition, the Standard modem over bluetooth connections in the control panel kept multiplying.
Fortunately, I found a solution at a Nokia support site.
Let me elaborate the details of the solution here. Instructions are specific to Nokia PC Suite 7.x.
Cleanup the Nokia PC Suite Bluetooth Connection
- Go to Settings > Manage Connections.
- In Connections available:, Select Bluetooth.
- Click Configure.
- Click Unpair.
Cleanup Your Computer’s Bluetooth Modems
Pair Your Phone Again
- In Nokia PC Suite, go to Settings > Manage connections.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Click Configure.
- Follow the instructions.
